The Black Collection is a recent launch that’s all about simplicity. A Special New Collection
For our new collection, we wanted to take a look at some of the core beliefs that we hold as a company. We took a step back and thought about what makes Lime Ricki so special, and why it stands out among other swimwear brands. We thought about what made us want to start this company in the first place; about all those horrible swimsuit shopping experiences, and always being bombarded with messages about altering ourselves to achieve that “summer beach body.” Our goal has always been to override these ways of thinking, and instead teach women to love themselves, exactly as they are. We want to help them embrace their imperfections and recognize that there’s no such thing as finding the “right” body, because they already have it. Promoting self-love is what Lime Ricki is all about, and that’s what makes us so special.
We took this theme of self-love and thought about ways we could incorporate it even further into our designs. And then it hit us: Valentine’s Day! Valentine’s Day has always been a special time for people to express their love and affection for their significant other. While we love romance, this season, we wanted to shift the focus to self-love. After all, is there a better way to show yourself some love than by rocking a brand-new swimsuit that makes you look and feel good? And with so many adorable colors and patterns associated with the holiday, we just knew we had to take advantage of the opportunity. And thus, the Valentine’s Collection was born!

2022 In Review: Swimwear Trends, Giving Back, and More
How is it possible that we’ve already made it through another year? We’ve been pretty busy around here, and it’s all thanks to you! We’re incredibly thankful to have had such a successful year – we’ve watched as swimwear trends continue to evolve, planned some exciting upcoming collections, and teamed up with our wonderful customers to give back to our favorite charities. As a thank you to you all for everything you do for us, we’d like to share and reminisce on all the aspects that made this such a fantastic year. So let’s get started – here’s our 2022 in review!
Swimsuit Trends That Dominated 2022
Swimwear trends are always changing, and it’s exciting to see the next popular style. In 2022, one of the trendy pieces was the tankini top, which made a pretty big comeback. At Lime Ricki, one of our best-selling swim tops this year was the May Flowers Double Cinch Tankini Top, so we definitely agree with this trend. Knotted one-pieces took the swimsuit world by storm in 2022, and they were a big hit with all of you as well!
Based on our favorite swimwear of 2022, we found that the shoulder-tie styles were well-loved by our customers. You all loved this style so much, you put it on the list twice with the May Flowers Shoulder-Tie and the Hillside Floral Shoulder-Tie! It’s such a customizable design, due to its adjustable tie straps, so we can see why it was a fan favorite.
Lime Ricki Gives Back
Year after year, your continued support is beneficial to more than just Lime Ricki. Your purchases have helped us tremendously in our mission to give back to causes that are important to us, and this year was no different. Thanks to you all, we’ve been able to make a difference and contribute to helping others!
A portion of each purchase made this year went to Charity Water, which is an organization that brings safe, clean drinking water to developing nations. We love this charity and everything they stand for because we believe every human deserves access to clean drinking water. With each purchase you made, you did more than just buy a swimsuit; you contributed to an important cause!
In 2022, we were also lucky enough to team up with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and donate a portion of the sales from our Flourish and Bloom Collection. We have a personal connection to this cause – Nicole was diagnosed with breast cancer three times in her twenties and carries the BRCA1 mutation that causes our family to be at a higher risk. Jennifer also carries this mutation, and she beat ovarian cancer in her 40s! While Colette does not carry the mutation, she’s been by our side through it all and is our biggest cheerleader and advocate. We mean it when we say that we are so thankful to be able to donate to a cause that we care so deeply for, and you’ve made it possible to continue giving back by supporting Lime Ricki.

What Is Black Friday?
You probably know what Black Friday is, but if you don’t, here’s a brief breakdown. Black Friday is the term commonly used in the United States for the day after Thanksgiving. Black Friday has been seen as the official marker of the start of the Christmas shopping season. During this sale, many stores offer their products at extremely discounted prices. There’s often a significant amount of promotion regarding Black Friday sales. You’ll see a ton of commercials, advertisements, and promotional emails when it gets closer to the date. This is no ordinary sale – many in-person stores open early on Black Friday. They usually open their doors at midnight, or sometimes even on Thanksgiving Day.
Where Does the Name for Black Friday Come From?
If you’re like us, then you’ve probably wondered where Black Friday got its name from. The origin is actually pretty simple – it comes from the standard recording process that many businesses use. In general, businesses have traditionally recorded their numerical losses in red ink and their gains in black ink. Many retailers report some of their highest profits of the year on this date, so it has since been dubbed “Black Friday.” Modern accounting software still uses this color-coding method, so even though technology has evolved, the name has stuck.
Times Are Changing.
It’s no surprise that Black Friday sales have changed over the years. One of the biggest changes is the duration time of these sales. For example, Black Friday used to strictly be a one-day sale. When stores only offered their sales for a limited amount of time, it encouraged people to shop as much as they could during that time. However, in recent years it’s become more common for stores to offer their black Friday deals for more than one day. Some Black Friday sales begin the day before (on Thanksgiving), while others can start as early as the Monday before.
